THE NSW ARCHITECTS REGISTRATION BOARD
ELECTION OF TWO (2) ARCHITECTS
Section 60(1)(d) of the Architects Act, 2003 provides for the election of two (2) Architects to the NSW Architects Registration Board.
Nominations
Nominations, which must be in the prescribed form (Form 1), are hereby invited from persons who are Architects as at the day determined for the close of nominations; ie Noon, Thursday 27 November 2008.
The candidate must be nominated by at least five (5) persons (other than the candidate) who are Architects as at Noon, Thursday 27 November 2008.
A Statutory Declaration in support of Candidature (Form 2) may be completed by each candidate, details from which will be included in a Candidate Information Sheet which will accompany ballot papers should an election be necessary.
Nomination forms and Statutory Declarations in support of Candidature are available from the New South Wales Electoral Commission, telephone (02) 9290 5947, or the NSW Architects Registration Board, telephone (02) 9241 4033.
Lodgement of Nominations and Statutory Declarations in Support of Candidature
Lodgement of a correctly completed Nomination Form and a Statutory Declaration in Support of Candidature, by the specified time, is the responsibility of the candidate and must be received by no later than Noon, Thursday 27 November 2008. A nomination cannot be withdrawn after this time and any anomaly in the Nomination Form or alteration or addition to a Statutory Declaration in Support of Candidature must be rectified before this time.
Nomination forms can only be lodged with the returning officer:-
by hand: New South Wales Electoral Commission, Level 25, 201 Kent Street, Sydney; or
by post: PO Box 693, Grosvenor Place NSW 1220; or
by fax: (02) 9290 5939.
Ballot
Should more than the required number of nominations be received a draw to determine the order of candidates’ names on the ballot paper will be conducted at the New South Wales Electoral Commission at 2.00pm, Thursday 27 November 2008. Candidates or their representatives are welcome to witness the draw.
Should more than the required number of nominations be received a postal ballot will be conducted to close at Noon, Tuesday 13 January 2009. Ballot papers will be posted on Thursday 11 December 2008.
The method of voting to be observed is proportional representation.
