Glen Murcutt and David Malouf in conversation with Julianne Schultz.
2pm. Monday October 5, World Architecture Day,
Sydney Opera House, The Studio
Architecture provides the stage for us to play out life's stories, real or imagined. On stage at the Sydney Opera House, two celebrated Australians, novelist David Malou and architect Glenn Murcutt - in conversation with Julianne Schultz, the editor of Griffith REVIEW and a professor in the Centre for Public Culture and Ideas at Griffith University.
This wonderful conversation will be the headline event of the Sydney Architecture Festival, a one day program of talks, tours, exhibitions and children's activities, all focused around Customs House Sydney and Circular Quay on the public holiday of Monday October 5.
As one of the two headline events of this year's Festival, Anne Watson will examine one of the most contentious events in Australia's Architectural history - Jorn Utzon's replacement by Peter Hall as design architect of the Sydney Opera House in April 1966.
Tickets for these talks are available through the Sydney Opera House box office.
