Talks in the Crypt – first Wednesday of the month - are free lunch time talks presented by former Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarships (BHTS) recipients about their projects. Topics will be of interest to the public, architects (informal CPD), students, graduates and potential BHTS applicants. 1 Hour Informal CPE/D

Fee increases

The Board has determined to increase fees in line with the Board’s rising costs. The following fees will apply as from the beginning of the 2007/8 financial year:

  • Annual renewal of registration (practising)                     $180
  • Annual renewal of registration (non-practising)                $40
  • Listing fee for corporations and firms (one off fee)            $60
  • Annual publication fee for corporations and firms           $120    

Professional conduct

Architects are reminded of the importance of complying with the provisions of the NSW Architects Code of Professional Conduct. In particular, see the requirement for architects to enter into a written agreement with their client prior to work commencing –Section 7 Client agreements of the Code, and the requirement to include the architect’s registration number on any stationery, sign boards, public notices or advertisements used or placed by the architect in connection with the architect’s professional practice - Section 21 Dealings with the public.

12 May-26 August 2007 Homes in the Sky: Apartment living in Sydney: Museum of Sydney

Homes in the sky provides a graphic record of many of Sydney’s best-known and most sought-after apartment buildings. From public to luxury housing, Homes in the sky traces the transforming impact of apartments on Australia’s identity and Sydney’s urban and architectural character. The exhibition features the work of photographers Max Dupain and Eric Sierins; artists Arthur Streeton and Will Ashton; interior designer Marion Hall Best; Australian and international architects Harry Seidler, Aaron Bolot, Emil Sodersten, Renzo Piano and Frank Stanisic; and contemporary developers Multiplex, Meriton and Lend Lease.

2007 Client Service Awards  - nomination forms The Client Service Award provides an opportunity for satisfied clients to win recognition for their architect’s service. The selection criteria are focused on common areas of uncertainty and complaint by consumers about architectural services - communication, understanding the processes and management of the contract; and an assessment of the architect’s response to environmental sustainability aspects of the project.
