New Board Member
At the August Board meeting Angelo Tsirekas was welcomed as the newly appointed Member to represent the views of Local Government. Angelo is Mayor of Canada Bay Council.

The Sydney Architecture Festival is a one day program of talks, tours, exhibitions and children's activities, all focused around Customs House Sydney and Circular Quay on the public holiday of Monday October 5. Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship - up to $135,000 in funds available for award in 2009
The Trust Company has agreed to the Board’s 2009 Conditions of Award which were revised in accordance with the terms of Byera Hadley’s Will. This year two Scholarships of up to $40,000 each is available in the Graduate category (note there is no longer a category restricted only to architects) and three Scholarships of up to $20,000 each is available in the Student category. Applicants for the Scholarship must be enrolled in, or a graduate of, a degree from an architecture school in a NSW university. Previous recipients of the BHTS may re-apply after 5 years from successful completion of an earlier Scholarship. Applications close on 9 October 2009. How green in your practice? These web based guidelines were designed to assist architectural practices in reducing carbon emissions in the administration and management of their practice. This website is the result of the real experiences and learning of the architectural firms who participated in the project. Users of the site have access to real case studies from the participants, an easy to use on line template and other helpful information. 
 
Glenn Murcutt – Architecture for Place exhibition at Museum of Sydney
Glenn Murcutt's groundbreaking designs are internationally recognised as being at the forefront of contemporary architecture. His work is celebrated for its sustainability and harmony with the natural world, and resonance and unity with Australia's diverse climate and topography. This special exhibition reveals the way Murcutt crafts his projects, with a selection of ideas presented from initial sketch to detailed construction drawings and final built work. A series of stunning photographs by Anthony Browell completes the show.
